Ever since I became a mum 9 years ago, everything that I used to indulge in, hobbies, TV, even books took a back seat. My priorities change. My own life is less important than my children’s lives. I seem to have many things that I want to do that are not fulfilled at the moment. I wonder how life will be if I am able to pursue these unfulfilled wishes under a wholly different situation. A situation of delayed parenthood. A situation of pursuing my wish lists at the expense of lesser time with the kids. Will I then be happier than I am right now? SMB Blogger Event 2014
I follow many blogs locally and internationally. One of my favourite is Nicole from Planning with kids. She is an inspiration. She juggles her household with 5 kids and has a successful blogging career. She upgrades herself and motivates readers with her disciplined routine tips. One of the annual event she speaks at is the Australian Problogger Event where experienced international speakers share on their expertise on blogging. Reading about the Problogger event always have me thinking whether we do have one in Singapore that will benefit bloggers like me to learn and be motivated in blogging. So, it was a much unintentional thought that came to mind and before I realized what I was in for, Rachel, one of the SMB founders, asked me to organize one for the SMB (Singapore Mom Bloggers) community where the speakers are our very own SMB mums!
It soon became an honour for me to hold such a highly anticipated event and most likely Singapore’s first Blogger Event for Bloggers!! Continue reading “SMB Blogger Event 2014”

It is for the older kids to sit on when there are no available seats on the train.
But the very thing about this pram is: Continue reading “What is the logic behind folding up prams on a bus?”
Why I breastfed for 9 months…
How many mums-to-be have decided on giving up breastfeeding even before their babies were born? From my circle of mum friends, all of them would say they will try it out. I think most mums will want to provide the best for their babies and will try their best even if it is for 1, 2 days. I have never, for one split second, doubt I would not carry out the nature’s call for a mum to nurse her baby. My mum had done it, 3 times in her life and she had never mentioned that she had problems. It just seemed so natural to her. So, naturally I should do it too. On the day my first little darling was born, I know she’s a born “sucker”, oh no, I mean “suckler”, although she needed some guidance. For me? I needed only one BIG thing, no, not the BIG BOOBS, but starting with the letter P, “PATIENCE”. Continue reading “Why I breastfed for 9 months…”
Teaching my kids courtesy and respect
One thing I cannot stand in raising my kids is any display of disrespect and discourtesy. Can you tolerate “What??!!”, “So??” in a defiant tone with eyeballs rolling? What do you make out of a kid who never greets you nor say goodbye when you leave his house? How do you feel when the parent herself doesn’t see you out of her house? And how do you like it if a nephew calls you by your name?
I certainly cannot tolerate any of these rudeness in kids and cannot imagine Continue reading “Teaching my kids courtesy and respect”
