A peep into Organic Bakery kitchen – Bud of Joy

Are you a fan of organic foods? Have you heard of Organic Bakery? I know organic foods exist, but I always suspect ALL ingredients that go into the process of making the end product are bound to have something that are not so organic. How wrong I was after visiting Bud of Joy, an Organic Bakery and Store selling pure organic foods. Over the weekends, I took my kids to have an educational tour of the bakery’s kitchen and we learnt all about preparation of the organic ingredients into baking organic cakes, 100% wholemeal organic bread, and organic cookies and pastries. Everything made in the bakery is 100% natural, pesticide-free with no preservatives nor artificial ingredients! Wow! I thought to myself: to put in so much effort to prepare the ingredients to make nutritious and delicious pastries, the baker must have a lot of passion for healthy food!

My Baby’s First Contest

When XX was one and a half years old, she competed in a baby contest and breezed through all rounds of audition to the finals. She was fast enough in putting shapes into the shape sorter box to enter the semi-finals, she was fast enough in running a 5 metre track to reach the finals, and she was 5th in the fastest 10 metre run in the finals. She won 8 packs of diapers to everyone’s joy! Continue reading “My Baby’s First Contest”

Fun@Giggles playground – courtesy of Fun@Giggles

But to be invited to indoor playground parties, due to the more expensive cost and limited invitees, siblings are usually not invited and we perfectly understand. So when we turned up as Continue reading “Having fun party at Fun@Giggles (+Giveaway!)”

Simple art and craft – Salt Art

All mummies should have a ready stock of art and craft supplies for “rainy days”. Yes, rainy days or days when unexpected events happened, and you have to stay home with your kids. So, I really have to thank the mummy blogger at Ingspirations who shared her simple salt art idea and it saved my day when the kids were bored and had nothing to do at home.

The first intriguing thing that struck me was how salt can turn colour so easily by twirling a chalk or in my case, we ran out of chalk, and used pastel colours from Daiso. Continue reading “Simple art and craft – Salt Art”

Preparing for Primary 1 – Part 2

I wrote a post on how I prepared my girl for primary school 2 years ago. Time flies and now I am going to prepare my boy for primary school next year. When I relooked into my list of preparation, I still find them very useful and they shall be applicable to my boy with some adjustment in expectations though. It shall also be more challenging this time round as I will be preparing for XX to wake up early for morning school after 2 years of afternoon school in Primary 1 and 2. YH will be in afternoon school. Hence, I need to adjust for both kids concurrently.

1. Eat a good breakfast

I find this a challenge to implement when I am not at home to ensure this goes through smoothly. I had tried for the past 2 years to prepare nutritious breakfast Continue reading “Preparing for Primary 1 – Part 2”
